The Seoul Business Roundtable
You are hereby invited to Seoul's newest discussion group, the Seoul Business Roundtable. Hosted by JJvox (a start-up American advertising firm), the group will meet on Saturday afternoons to discuss a wide range of subjects - including a specific interest in global affairs and how they affect the economic, political and social climate of today's world. Furthermore, we'll talk about how our topics relate to your business or academic endeavors.
This will be a great forum for you to practice your English, and could potentially offer a lot more. It will be an opportunity to meet like-minded professionals, network with them, and exchange ideas that could be beneficial to you at work or school:
-Do you own a business? Have you thought about expanding?
-Are you writing a thesis paper? Could you use some new perspective?
-Are you a corporate man/woman looking for ideas that can help you get ahead?
If you answered "yes" to any of the questions above, then you should consider joining the group.
There is no membership fee. Rather, participants will share the cost of the study/meeting room where we gather. We are considering Gangnam, Jongro, and Itaewon for our meeting location.
Description: A topic will be selected, and members will be sent a list of questions (mid-week) to consider for Saturday. English will be the spoken language, and those who are accepted into the group will be expected to actively participate in our discussions. Members will also be encouraged to submit topics. Please note that this is not a class. There will be a limited number of seats, and qualifications are as follows:
-You must [at the very least] speak/understand English at an intermediate level.
-You should have an interest in discussing global economics and politics from a practical and/or theoretical perspective (among other things).
-Your job or course of study (graduate students are also encouraged to apply) puts you in position to offer something to our conversations.
Again, this is not a class (If you are looking for a tutor or group class, please contact me and I can direct you to someone who can meet your needs).
Those who are interested should e-mail Jay at show contact info . Please include your resume, and short description of why you'd like to join the group. If selected, you will be sent an email with the time and location of our first meeting, which will be in January of 2015.
Best wishes and happy holidays,
